First Cluster 2D Meeting

cluster meeting August is Membership Month. A seminar on Membership Development is timely. Having the proper resource person will make the seminar fruitful.

Last July 31, 2008, the Rotary Club of Hundred Islands hosted the First Cluster 2D Meeting on Membership Development with Past District Governor Marquez “Mark” Go at the Fel-Am’s Restaurant at Magsaysay, Alaminos City, Pangasinan.

Dream of new classroom - realized

padan classroom Last July 22, 2008, the Rotary Club of Hundred Islands turned over to the Pandan Elementary School, Barangay Pandan, City of Alaminos, Pangasinan, the Rotary Building, an additional school building to separate Grade VI pupils from Grade V pupils who were previously sharing one room by signing a Deed of Donation. The club as Donor was represented by Immediate Past President Ildefonso “Doods” M. Manzano, Jr. and Pandan Elementary School as Donee was represented by Ms. Violeta Camba, school principal.

Coastal Clean-up and Club Family Day 2008

An old adage says, “All work and no play makes Juan a dull boy.” The officers and members of the Hundred Islands Rotary would not allow this to happen to them. Inspite of their hectic schedules in attending series of inductions of different clubs in the district, they organized themselves and held an out-of-town activity last July 19, 2008. The activity which they called Coastal Clean-up and Club Family Day held in Cabongaoan, one of the remotest barangays of the Municipality of Burgos, Pangasinan.

Last July 16, 2008, the Rotary Club of Hundred Islands (RCHi) signed with the Northern Luzon Association for the Blind, Inc. (NLAB) a Memorandum of Agreement pertaining to the latter’s scholars.

Grosse Ile Rotary’s International Project in Mabini - Completed

RC Groose Ile donation July 14, 2008, Magalong, Mabini. The Rotary Club of Hundred Islands in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Grosse Ile, D6400, Michigan and the Local Government Unit of Mabini, Pangasinan, launched the repair of the school building taht was damaged by Typhoon "Cosme" in Magalong National High School, Barangay Magalong, Municipality of Mabini, Pangasinan on July 14, 2008.

Dream of a good meal - ongoing

seselangen feeding The Rotary Club of Hundred Islands launched the 100-day Supplemental Feeding Project at Seselangen Elementary School last July 7, 2008.  Fifty (50) malnourished pupils from kindergarten to Grade IV will be fed once a day from Monday to Friday.  Approximately twenty (20) days a month for five (5) months.

A program on the blind and the crippled - Featured

aquino eye exam Your differently abled relative wants to be useful citizen of the society. Do not deprive him of this right.  Without a guiding hand, they would remain in the four corners of your house.  They can be self-sufficient when giving the chance.

The Rotary Club of Hundred Islands would launch a project for the blind and for the crippled.  Initial step was to get a list of blind children and list of crippled children from the City Social Welfare and Development Office for the 39 barangays of the City of Alaminos.

Dugo Mo, Dugtong ng Buhay Ko

burgos blood drive The Rotary Club of Hundred Islands in cooperation with the Red Cross – Alaminos City Western Pangasinan Chapter and Municipal Government of Burgos held a bloodletting activity entitled, “Dugo Mo, Dugtong ng Buhay Ko” last July 3, 2008 at the Burgos Auditorium, Poblacion, Burgos, Pangasinan.
