Leticia Parra was born in Mexico City, the center of the ancient Aztec Empire. At 13 years old I worked as a grocery store clerk, taught children and taught French. I also worked at Bristol Myers Co. (drugs division), CANACINTRA (Mexican Chamber of Industry), Nacional Financiera (National Bank) and Dokter Labs (medicine products) which is a family enterprise.
After a more or less compulsory exile from journalism, I returned to my professional activity in 1989 when I initiated a new Magazine on Industry, "Dinamica Industrial News". 5,000 copies each month go to top CEOs and GMs in Mexico City and Metropolitan area informing them of Sustainable Development and Public Political of Government programs.
1997 the Rotary Club of Bellavista was founded and invited me to be
part of Rotary's family. 1999 I was Club President and the first
District Webmaster (the first Rotarian site in Mexico) and District
Rotary Fellowships Chair. 2000 I worked on the first Mexican Rotarian 9
Districts' site as webmaster, trying to present how the Rotary World
can be found in Mexico as a country through their 9 Mexican districts.

FUTURE VISION OF ROTI
As Journalist and Rotarian, and besides the large capacity of Rotary
communications on Internet, the future of ROTI most point to a close
encounter with those Rotarians, Spouses and Rotaracts worldwide to let
them know more about our mission, goals and some projects on benefit of
those in great need, seeking the international aid.
Friendship was the most important gift I have received from ROTI, not
just on Internet at our mailing lists, but also at RI Conventions in
ROTI’s booths in Buenos Aires, San Antonio, Barcelona and Chicago.
As ROTI's Chairperson, I will try my best to keep an air of
friendliness, hospitality and fellowship on all the ROTI lists and ROTI
Board. One primary goal would be to make sure that all ROTIans ENJOY
their time in this Fellowship.
I am convinced that we need to start some initiatives to recruit new
members in ROTI. In the past, members have always come to us or found
us through the Internet or from a recommendation from a friend. We have
to work on new recruiting ROTI members different of we have done before
at the yearly conventions. Maybe could start a program called "Bring a
Friend to ROTI" and challenge members to spread the word about our
Fellowship and try to bring in one new member; which will keep it
active.
Rotary has been working on a Future Vision Program for some areas,
bringing the Rotary world into the Internet, especially since the time
of RIPP Frank Devlyn, and ROTI most continue this leadership role with
new programs and assistance to RI.
ROTI is already present through ROTI Social Groups at Facebook, Linkedin, MySpace.
I am positive sure that it is the right time to prepare a Future Vision
plan for ROTI’s next two years, moving forward to new and better
challenges.
I am convinced that through 'millions of bytes' we will try to bring
people of all races, religious faiths or political beliefs into
Rotary's Magic: Serving others.
