Outgoing President's Message PDF Print E-mail

Rotary Year 2008-2009 has ended and too is my service as the 7th President of the Rotary Club of Hundred Islands.

It was a tall order for Rotary Year 2008-2009 to Make Dreams Real.  This order was not put to naught as we have made dreams into reality and made little difference in the lives of our beneficiaries.  In response to the call of Rotary International President Dong Kurn Lee for the reduction of child mortality, 150 pupils had an average weight gain of 2.5 kilograms, around 100 children were treated and given free medicine and 50 impoverished children receive mosquito nets, to name a few.  These things were made possible by officers and members who served wholeheartedly even in the absence of remuneration or financial return.

These little things undertaken by the club were not left unnoticed by District Governor Jesus “Jess” Nicdao and the district leaders.  The club received distinction on all the Avenues of Service of Rotary in addition to the PDG Mar Award for Outstanding Club, PDG Mark Go Award on Highest Net Gain in Membership Number, Membership Milestone Award, Outstanding Club President Award and Club Leadership Award.  Even the Rotary International has joined in giving recognition to the club for projects undertaken by the club.

The new team has led the club for almost two months now and has implemented projects having the trademark of excellence as usually born by the club.  The new set of officers and members of the club has worked having in mind that “The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands.”

The projects undertaken by the club and the corresponding recognition received would not be possible without the tireless, selfless and wholehearted support of the officers and members of the club during the past Rotary Year.  To them I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for their support to my leadership and their commitment to the club.

I am now a member of the Council of Past President ready and able to support President Antero “Roy” Magno and the future presidents of the club.

RCHi, Mabuhay!
