Mega EDSA sisterhood renewed PDF Print E-mail

Mega EDSA The sisterhood agreement with the Rotary Club of Mega EDSA, District 3780, was renewed last September 22, 2008 during their induction ceremonies held at the Aberdeen Court, Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.  The renewal agreement was signed by Mega EDSA President Dahlia “Dahl” P. Non and Hundred Islands President Henry R. Onia witnessed by their respective Club Secretaries, Assistant Governors and District Governors.  The agreement will have three (3) years effectivity and automatically renewed unless terminated upon mutual consent of the parties.

The club has seven (7) delegates, the most number of delegates, in accordance with District 3790 tradition in attending inductions which is completely different from that of District 3780 where only the president would represent his club in all induction ceremonies of clubs in the district.

The club arrived early at the venue such that the Governor’s Visit is about to end.  The officers and members of the Rotary Club of Mega EDSA were in muslim attire considering that Incoming President Dahl was from Upi, Maguindanao.  The program was opened by Outgoing President Eva Penamora before the dinner was served.  After the dinner, the program resumed.

After the adjournment by President Dahl, the signing of the sisterhood agreement followed.  There were three (3) clubs scheduled to renew sisterhood agreement with the host club but only Rotary Clubs of Hundred Islands and Tanauan Central were able to make it.

While the host club was taking pictures with visiting Rotarians and friends, the Hundred Islands Rotarians rendered a Pangasinan love song.  The listeners were not able to understand the lyrics of the song but were swaying to the melody.

During the fellowship hours, Pres Henry was able to get the commitment of Pres Dahl to provide an international partner to the Matching Grant projects of the former.  Assistant Governor Rufino “Phenny” Policarpio of Rotary Club of San Francisco del Monte, a sister club, would help in the realization of the medical mission of the mobile surgery van in Alaminos.  Pres Henry also requested Pres. Letty Abayan of Rotary Club of Cubao EDSA if their livelihood project “Basic Electricity and Plumbing” could be replicated in Alaminos City.

The delegation went to Manila in the Innova car of Director Cre Doctor at 1:30 in the afternoon with Rotarian Edsel Doctor in the steering wheel.  His passengers were Pres Henry, President Elect/Secretary Antero “Roy” Magno, Director Cre, Rotarians Cita Gatmen, Ella Halican and Jean Rendon.

After the occasion, the group had to head home with Dir Cre as the driver.  The delegates have to be ready for their respective work after arriving home at around 4:00 in the morning.
